Anatomy of an ECON Chapter
It's all there!
In ECON for Microeconomics and ECON for Macroeconomics, we wanted to visually enhance the text presentation and apply learning outcomes to the main content areas, while also focusing student attention on the chapter content.
Terms
A comparative proofread of ECON against any mainstream principles text will show that all standard terms are covered in ECON Micro and ECON Macro.
Learning Outcomes
Chapters are arranged by learning outcomes and are built from the main chapter ideas and concepts. Learning outcomes identify the concepts in each chapter.
End of Chapter Questions and Problems
Problems and questions were moved out of the individual chapters into an end-of-book appendix. Problems in the appendix are organized by learning outcome. To keep the problem appendix at a manageable size, we limited each learning outcome to a maximum of five related problems. Any additional end-of-chapter questions and problems have been moved to the IM as supplemental problems and are available to students for download off of the Web site.
Case Studies
We moved the full case studies with sources and questions to the Instructor’s Manual and Web site.
Chapter in Review Cards (Student Edition)
Student Review Cards contain key terms with definitions, learning outcomes with short summaries, a sampling of key exhibits from the chapter, and when applicable, a list of equations found in the chapter.
Prep Cards (Instructor Edition)
Instructor Prep Cards contain lists of the learning outcomes, the chapter exhibits, key terms, and equations (when applicable). They also contain the chapter outlines and teaching notes. Descriptions of videos follow the key terms list, and some chapters have experiential exercises and discussion questions as well.
